Real Estate Term of the Day: Evidence of Title
EVIDENCE OF TITLE – legal documents, such as a DEED that demonstrate ownership (Barron’s Dictionary of Real Estate Terms)
Any legal document that demonstrates ownership of the property will be recorded with the county in which the property is located. Once the deed is recorded the original will be returned to the current owner. It is important to keep this in a safe place.
