Real Estate Term of the Day: Bi-Level

BI-LEVEL – a house built on 2 levels in which the main entrance is situated above the lower level but below the upper level (Barron’s Dictionary of Real Estate Terms)

Most bi-level homes feature the kitchen, dining room, formal living room, a guest bathroom and some bedrooms (some floor plans may feature the master bedroom) on the upper level.  The family room & secondary bedrooms are typically on the lower level.  Access to the garage will be from the lower level or could be situated on the level that the entrance is located.  Most bi-level homes were constructed between the 1970s & 1980s.  (source: http://www.splitlevel.net/bi-level.html)  There are several neighborhoods around metro Denver that feature bi-level homes.
