AGENT – a licensed real estate broker who is given authority to transact business for another with authority (Barron’s Dictionary of Real Estate Terms)

In Colorado, to become a licensed real estate agent/broker a person must complete 168 hours of course work and pass the state exam. To maintain a license, agents/brokers must complete a certain number of continuing education course hours throughout the year. Please note there is a difference between a licensed agent/broker and a REALTOR.
