U.S. News recently released the top 10 U.S. cities with the best combination of public transportation investment, ridership, and safety. Denver ranked #1 followed by New York (#2), LA (#3), Boston (#4), Portland (#5), San Jose (tied for #6), Salt Lake City (tied for #6), San Diego (#8), Seattle (#9) and Honolulu (#10). RTD (Regional Transportation District) is currently in the process of completing a major initiative to bring light rail to most of cities that encompass Metro Denver. They are currently in the process of adding FasTracks light rail to Lakewood & Golden (Jefferson County).
